Whangarei Marine Services has been providing mechanical sales, service, and support to local and international boaties for over two decades. We stock an extensive range of parts, and our workshop can handle simple repairs through to complete custom design and build installations. Our aim is to have satisfied customers, who keep coming back and refer us to their friends. To achieve this we strive to provide reliability in our products and service, along with convenience and value for money.
Having spent time on the water ourselves we know how inconvenient and potentially dangerous a mechanical breakdown can be. We believe reliability comes from buying the right part, installing it properly, and then maintaining it to the supplier’s recommended schedule.
Whangarei Marine Services is proud to be the local agent for Volvo Penta and Yanmar, two brands internationally recognised for their quality and performance, not only in their products but also the level of service provided by their worldwide dealership networks.
The mechanics at Whangarei Marine Services have many years of experience behind them, and take part in regular on-going supplier led training. They have all the equipment they need to let them do the job right. Since all jobs can impact on reliability they are all are completed with the same care and attention to detail – from a simple oil change right through to a new engine install or refit.
If you need something custom made there is a good chance we have done something similar already. Reliability starts at the design stage and a good design will not only ensure that the component is robust enough to perform the required task, but will recognise the possibility that someone might end up having to work on that component at sea with limited access and a limited selection of tools.
Reliability does not mean everything has to be brand new. Whangarei Marine Services can assess the state of your current components and make recommendations for replacement or refurbishment. The workshop has a full range of diagnostic equipment and all parts are thoroughly checked before they are installed in the boat. Gearboxes are driven up to operating speeds to check for abnormal noise or vibrations before they are fitted. Engines are run up and boost and temperature checked before the boat is put back in the water.
Whangarei Marine Services has a fleet of fully equipped service vans, so one of our mechanics can come to you. We also courier parts around the country and across the Pacific.
As boaties the team at Whangarei Marine Services recognise how special the Whangarei district is. From the sheltered waters in the harbour to the world famous fishing and diving grounds on our doorstep. As a member of the Whangarei Marine Promotions group we are helping to spread the word.
